What this page covers

This page explains what Coursition does with personal data when you sign up and use the course studio yourself. It is written for people, not for lawyers, and it describes what the product actually does today.

What we collect

We collect three things, and only these:

• Your account: name, email address and password. Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form.
• Your work: the files and text you upload as source material, and the course drafts generated from them.
• Session data: the IP address and browser your sign-ins come from, so we can spot suspicious access to your account.

Why we use it

We use your data to run your account, to generate and store your course drafts, to keep the service secure, and to answer you when you contact us. The legal basis is performing our agreement with you, plus our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe and working. We do not profile you and we do not use your material to train models of our own.

Sending your material to an AI model

Drafting a course means sending the text of your sources to the AI provider we use for generation. That provider processes the text to return a draft and works only on our instructions. Please do not upload material you are not allowed to hand to an external processor.

Cookies

We only set the cookies the site needs to work: one that keeps you signed in, one that remembers the language you chose, and one that remembers whether you picked the light or dark theme. There is no advertising and no third-party analytics.

Who else sees it

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for marketing. We use service providers to host the application, store your files and run AI generation; they process data only on our instructions and only to keep the product running. We hand data to authorities only when the law obliges us to.

How long we keep it

Your account data lives as long as your account does. Source files and course drafts stay until you delete them or delete your account, after which they are removed from storage. We keep invoicing records for as long as Czech accounting and tax law requires.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

• tell you what data we hold about you and give you a copy,
• correct anything that is wrong,
• delete your account and everything in it,
• stop or limit a particular use of your data,
• hand your data over in a portable format,
• and you can complain to the Czech Data Protection Authority (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, uoou.gov.cz) if you think we got it wrong.

If you use Coursition through your employer

If your organisation bought Coursition under a signed agreement, your organisation decides what happens to the data in its workspace and we act as its processor under the data processing terms of that agreement. In that case ask your organisation for its own privacy notice.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle your data, we update this page and the date at the top of it. If a change materially affects you, we tell you before it takes effect.
